These Matcha Brownies combine rich white chocolate chips with the unique flavor of matcha powder. Simple to prepare, they offer a delightful treat that’s perfect for sharing or enjoying at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 sticks unsalted butter (1/2 cup + 2 tbsp)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp matcha powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter and white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth. Stir in the matcha powder until well combined and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mix together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and kosher salt.
  4. Incorporate the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until fully combined.
  5. Gently fold in the flour until no streaks remain.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Drizzle the slightly cooled matcha ganache evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

These brownies are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar based on your preference.
For a richer flavor, top the brownies with a dusting of extra matcha powder before serving.
