Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup long-grain white rice (e.g., jasmine or basmati)
- 2 cups water or broth
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil (optional)
- pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse rice in a fine-mesh strainer under cold water until it runs clear.
- Grease the bottom and sides of the slow cooker with butter or non-stick spray.
- Add rinsed rice, water or broth, and a pinch of salt to the slow cooker; stir.
- Cover and cook on high for 1 ½ to 2 ½ hours until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
Notes
For added flavor, use broth instead of water.
Rinsing the rice helps remove excess starch for fluffier texture.
Experiment with herbs or spices for different flavors.
