Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound thawed cooked ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 tablespoons diced jalapeno
- 28 oz can crushed fire roasted tomatoes
- 14 oz can diced fire roasted tomatoes
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons homemade chili seasoning
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a pan, then drain and let it cool.
- Once cooled, divide the beef into 1 pound portions and place in freezer bags.
- Chop several onions, placing 1/2 cup in each bag of ground beef or storing in separate freezer bags.
- Remove stems and seeds from the jalapeños, dice them, and either add 2 tablespoons into each beef bag or store separately in freezer bags.
- Prepare a batch of chili seasoning to your taste.
- You can choose to freeze the bags as they are, or mix the seasoning and other ingredients together and then freeze. When ready to cook, heat in a slow cooker until the vegetables are tender and everything is heated through.
Notes
Label the freezer bags with the date and contents for easy identification later.
For best quality, consume within 3 months of freezing.
You can adjust the spice level by varying the amount of jalapeño added.
